~ Jerry Bridges

"We are more concerned about our own victory over sin than we are the fact that sin grieves the heart of GOD.  We cannot tolerate failure in our daily struggle with sin chiefly because we are SUCCESS oriented, not because we know it is offensive to GOD.  [...]  GOD wants us to walk in obedience, not victoryObedience is oriented toward GOD. Victory is oriented towards self."

~ Joni Erickson Tada

Faith isn't the ability
to believe  l o n g  and far into the misty future.
It's simply taking God at His WORD
and taking the next step.

Monologue vs. Dialogue

Monologue -n- a prolonged talk or discourse by a single speaker, esp. one dominating or monopolizing a conversation.

Dialogue -n- an exchange of ideas or opinions on a particular issue

If two people are conversing (often assumed to be a dialogue due to two parties being involved) except they aren't "exchanging ideas or opinions" as per the definition of dialogue, but are merely telling ideas or opinions, does it then become merely a series of alternating monologues?  Would that not prevent a dynamic conversation but instead replace it with two people just going round and round and round and getting no where at all?
